Deiphago/Amputator/Greyhaze Records/Darkness Attack Records/2018 Split EP Review

This  is  a  review  of  a  split  ep  between  Philippines's  Deiphago  and  U.S.A's  Amputator  which will  be  released  in  April  as  a  joint  effort  between  Greyhaze  and  Darkness  Attack  Records  and  we  will  start  off  the  review  with  Deiphago  a  band  that  has  had  music  reviewed  before  in  this  zine  and  plays  a  raw  mixture  of  war,  black  and  death  metal.

Their  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  a  very  fast,  raw  and  brutal  war  metal  sound  which  also  uses  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  while  the  vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  along  with  all  of  the  musical  instruments  having  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.

When  guitar  solos  and  leads are  utilized  they  are  done  in  a  very  chaotic  fashion  while  the  songs  also  stick  to  mostly  a  fast  direction  along  with  some  slow  or  mid  tempo  sections  only  being  added  into  some  parts  of  the  songs  and  bestial  growls  can  also  be  heard  briefly,  the  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  Satanism  and  Anti  Religion  themes.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Deiphago  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  war,  black  and  death  metal,  you  should  check  out  their  side  of the  split.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Heretic  Oath".

Next  up  is  Amputator  which  also  continues  their  mixture  of  war  and  black  metal.

Their  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  war  shots  and  distorted  amp  noises along  with  a  brief  use  of  spoken  word  samples  before  going  into  a  very  fast  and  raw  war  metal  direction  which  also  uses  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats  and  tremolo  picking  as  well as  having  a  very  lo-fi  atmosphere.

Vocals  are  mostly  grim  yet  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  while  the  bass  guitars  also  have  a  very  powerful  tone  to  them  along  with  some  chaotic  guitar  leads  also  being  used  at  times  as  well  as  the  music  sticking  to  either  a  fast  or  mid  tempo  direction,  the  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics cover  death,  war  and  murder  themes.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Amputator  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  black  and  war  metal,  you  should  check  out  their  side  of  the  split.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Bitch  Of  Gonorheal  Worship".

In  conclusion  I  feel  this  is  a  very  great  sounding  split  and  I  would  recommend  it  to  all  fans  of  war  metal.  8/5  out  of  10.

Amputator/Deathcult Barbaric Hell/Greyhaze Records/2017 VInyl Re-Issue Review

Amputator  where  a  band  from  Florida  that  has  had  music  reviewed  before  in  this  zine  and  on  this  recording  played  a  mixture  of  war,  black  and  thrash  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2007  album  "Deathcult  Barbaric  Hell"  which  will  be  re-issued  on  vinyl  on  May  18th  by  Greyhaze  Records.

A  very  heavy  and  raw  sound  starts  off  the  album  before  going  into a   very  fast  war  metal  direction  that  also  uses  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats  and  tremolo  picking  while  the  vocals  add  in a   mixture  of  grim  black  metal  screams  and  bestial  growls  and  you  can  hear  a  touch  of  the  Australian  style  in  the  songs.

When  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  remain  very  true  to  a  chaotic  war  metal  style  and  movie  samples  are  also  used  briefly  while  some  songs  also  mix  in a  decent  amount  of thrash  elements  and  they  also  do  a  cover  of  Repulsion's  "Slaughter  Of  The  Innocent"  and  all  of  the  songs  stick  to  a  very  heavy,  fast  and  brutal  direction.

Amputator  played  a  style  of  war/black  metal  on  this  recording that  was  very  raw,  brutal  and  aggressive  while  also  mixing  in a   touch  of  thrash  and  grind,  the  production  sounds  very  raw  and  heavy  while  the  lyrics  cover  death,  war  and  murder  themes.

In  my  opinion  this  was  a  very  great  sounding recording  from  Amputator  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  war  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  re-issue.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Rape  Kill  Annihilate"  "Obliteration" "Extinction  Deathmarch"  and  "Creed  Of  Persecution".  8  out  of  10.

Amputator/Baphomets Horns/Satanic Forcefucked Annihilation/Old Cemetary Records/2006 CD Split Album Review

This is a review of a split album between 2 bands from Conneticut that play satanic war metal Amputator and Baphomets Horn "Satanic Forcefucked Annihilation" which was released by Old Cemetary Records and we will start of the review with Amputator that play a very brutal version of satanic/goat/war metal.

Drums range from mid paced to fast drumming with a good amount of blast beats being thrown in at times, while the bass playing has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars.

Rhythm guitars range from mid paced to fast riffs that combine black, death, goat and war metal together in a very dark and brutal form and there are little to no guitar solos or leads present on their side of the recording.

Vocals are a mixture of deep goat metal growls and high pitched war/black/death metal screams, while the lyrics cover Satanism and War, as for the production it has a very dark, raw, heavy and primitive sound to it.

In my opinion Amputator where a very good black/war/goat metal band and if you are a fan of this style, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Bring Hell On Earth" and "Hellpanzer Execrate".

Next up is Baphomets Horns that plays a style that I would describe as being satanic war/black metal with a thrash edge.

Drums range from mid paced to fast drumming with a lot of brutal blast beats being thrown in, while the bass playing has a very dark tone with primitive riffs that follow the riffing that is coming out out of the guitars.

Rhythm guitars range from mid paced to fast and brutal riffs that combine black/war metal with thrash metal as well as a slight death metal edge being thrown in and there are little to no lead guitars or solos present on their side of the recording.

Vocals are all high pitched black metal screams, while the lyrics cover Satanism, War and Anti Judeo  Christianity themes, as for the production it has a very heavy, raw and primitive sound to it.

In my opinion Baphomets Horns are a very good satanic black/war metal band and if you are a fan of this style, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "My Dark Empire Rises" and "A Blasphemous Victory".

In my opinion this is a great split album with Amputator having the best music on this album and if you are a fan of satanic war metal, you should add this album to your collection. RECOMMENDED BUY.
