Drama/Perdition Winds/Satanath Records/Black Plague Records/2015 Split CD Review

 This  is  a  review  of  a  split  album  between  Russia's  Drama  and  Finland's  Perdition  Winds  which  will  be  released  on  December  25th,  2015  as  a  joint  effort  between  Satanath  Records  and  Black  Plague  Records  and  we  will  start  off  the  review  with  Drama  a  band  that  plays  a  very  dark  and  nihilstic  form  of  black  metal.

  Their  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  a  very  melodic  and  heavy  sound  along  with  all  of  the  musical  instruments  sounding  very  powerful  and  a  few  seconds  later  grim  black  metal  screams  make  their  presence  known  on  the  recording  and  the  solos  and  leads  also  use  a  great  amount  of  melody  and  also  add  a  progressive  touch  to  the  music  and on  the  second  track  the  music  speeds  up  briefly  and  also  adds  in  more  of  a  raw  sound  along  with  a  decent  amount  of  blast  beats,  the  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  nihilism,  death  worship,  darkness  and  cold  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Drama  are  a  very  great  sounding  dark  and  nihilistic  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  their  side  of  the  split.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Gloria  Mortis".

  Next  up  is  Perdition  Winds  a  band  that  has  had  an  album  reviewed  before  in  this  zine  and  plays  a  satanic  form  of  black  metal.

  Their  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  a  very  heavy  and  raw  sound  that  gets  very  fast  and  adds  in  blast  beats  and  deep  yet  grim  screams  that  also  get  high  pitched  at  times  and  the  song  is  over  13  minutes  in  length  and  the  song  also  brings  in  a  great mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  while  the  solos and  leads  have  a  very  dark,  melodic,  yet  catchy  feeling  to  them  and  there  is  also  a  brief  bass  guitar  lead,  the  production  sounds  very  raw  yet  powerful  while  the  lyrics  deal  Kain  which  is  the  Sumerian  spelling  for  the  biblical  Cain  and  the  cult  he  started.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  track  from  Perdition  Winds  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  raw,   satanic  and  occult  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  their  side  of  the  split.

  In  conclusion  I  feel  this  is  a  very  great  sounding  split  and  I  would  recommend  it  to  all  fans  of  raw,  nihilistic,  satanic  and  occult  black  metal.  8  out  of  10.

Perdition Winds/Aura Of Suffering/Woodcut Records/2014 CD Review

  Perdition  Winds  are  a  band  from  Finland  that  plays  a  very  raw  and  satanic  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2014  album  "Aura  of  Suffering"  which  will  be  released  on  Halloween  by  Woodcut  Records.

  A  very  distorted and  melodic  sound  starts  off  the  album  and  a  few seconds  later  the  music  starts  going  into  more  of  a  black  metal  direction  before  speeding  up,  adding  in  blast  beats  and  grim  growls  and  screams  as  well  as  a  great  amount  of  raw  aggression  and  the  band  also  brings  in  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.

  Most  of  the  tracks  are  very  long  and  epic  in  length  and  they  keep  everything  mostly  fast  and  raw  in  the  old  school  90's  tradition  as  well  as  evoking  a  very  evil  atmosphere  to  their  musical  style  and  at  time s they  add  a small  amount  of  melodies  into  their  musical  style  which  really  show  when  they  add  in  guitar  solos  and  leads  along  with  some  of  the  riffs  and  everything  second  and  minute  of  this  recording  sticks  to  a  very  heavy  musical  direction  and  there  is  never  a  soft  moment  present  anywhere  on  this  recording.  

  Perdition  Winds  creates  a  very  heavy  style  of  raw  black  metal  with  this recording  expanding  on  the  90's  influences  and  adding  in  some  melodies  and  epic  structures  to  create  an  album  that  is  true  to  the  darker  side  of  this  genre,  the  production  sounds  very  dark,  raw  and  heavy  while  the  lyrics  cover  Satanism,  Anti  Religion  and  Destruction  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Perdition  Winds  are  a  very  great  sounding  raw,  heavy  and  satanic  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  album>  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Revelations  in  Blood"  and  "Temple  Within".  8  out  of  10.
