Enslaved/Mið/Nuclear Blast Records/2026 Full Length Review

Norway's  Enslaved  has  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for  a  progressive  form  of  viking  black  metal  and  this  is  a review  of t heir  2026  album  "Mið"  which  will  be  released  on  October  30th  by  Nuclear  Blast  Records.

Dark  soundscapes  start  off  the  album  along  with  some  clean  playing  a  few  seconds  which  also  takes  the  music  into  more  of  a  progressive  direction  when  it  is  utilized.  Clear  pagan  vocals  are  also  used  quite  a  bit  throughout  the  recording  and  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.

When  the  music  speeds  up  a  decent  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  can  be  heard  which  also  gives  the  recording  more  of  a  raw  feeling.  harsh  vocals  are  mostly  grim  sounding  black  metal  screams  along  with  some  spoken  words  also  being  used  at  times  and  the  riffs  also  add  in a   lot  of  melody.

Throughout  the  album  you  can  also  hear  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  along  with  the  keyboards  also  adding  in  touches  of  70's  era  progressive  rock.  When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  also  done  in  a  very  melodic  style  and  a  couple  of  the  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  the  mystical  and  esoteric  side  of  ancient  archeological  structures.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Enslaved  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  band,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Solar  Will"  and  "Tales  Of  Trees".  8 out  of  10.
