Deciduous Forest/Hymns Of Time/Apocalyptic Witchcraft/2027 Full Length Review

Deciduous  Forest  are  a  solo  project  from  Australia  that  has  had  music  reviewed  before  in  this  zine  and  on  this  recording  plays  an  atmospheric  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  his  album  "Hymns  Of  Time"  which  will  be  released  in  2027  by  Apocalyptic  Witchcraft.

Clean  playing  and  atmospheric  sounding  keyboards  start  off  the  album  which  also  mixes  in  with  the  heavier  sections  of  the  music  at  times.  All  of  the  musical  instruments  on  the  recording  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  along  while  the  riffs  also  add  in  a  great  amount  of  melody  and  the  vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams.

Most  of  the  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length  while  the  music  also  mixes  in  some  elements  of  ambient  and  cinematic  music.  When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  done  in a  very  melodic  style  along with  some  acoustic  guitars  also  being  utilized  at  times  and  the  whole  album  sticks  to  a  slower  direction,  the  closing  track  is  also  an  instrumental.

On  this  recording  Deciduous  Forest  goes  for  a v ery  slow,  modern  and  atmospheric  style  of  black  metal.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  betrayal,  regret  and  loss.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Deciduous  Forest  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  atmospheric  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Hymns  Of  Time"  and  "Celestial  Forest".  8  out  of  10.
