Temple Abattoir/Cacoangelion/Vertebrae/2017 EP Review

Temple  Abattoir  are  a  band  from  Spain  that h as  had  music  reviewed  before  in  this  zine  and  on  this  recording  plays  a  very aggressive  form  of  occult  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2017  ep  "Cacoangelion"  which  was  released  by  Vertebrae.

A  very  dark  and  heavy  sound  starts  off  the  ep  while  you  can  also  hear  all  of  the  musical  instruments  that  are  presented  on  the  recording.  When  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats  and  tremolo  picking  can  also  be  heard  which  also  gives  the  songs  more  of  a  raw  feeling  and  the  tracks  also  add  in  a  decent  amount  of  90's  influences  but  keeps  it  modern  at  the  same  time.

Vocals  are  mostly  deep  yet  grim  black  metal  screams  that  also  get  very  high  pitched  sounding  at  times  while  the  songs  also  add  in  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.  Dark  sounding  melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  and  all  of  the  music  also  sticks  to  a  heavier  direction.

On  this  recording  Temple  Abattoir  remains  true  to  the  traditional  style  of  black  metal  that  they  have  established  on  previous  releases.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  Alchemy,  Occultism,  Death,  Alcohol,  Anti  Abrahamic  Religions  and  Blasphemy  themes.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Temple  Abattior  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  aggressive  and  blasphemous  occult  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  ep.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Sulphurous  Lord  (Liturgia  chais)"  and  "Extermination  By  Fire  (Ritus  conclusionis)".  8  out  of  10.

Temple Abattoir/Sacrilege & Savagery/Nigra Mors/2010 Cassette Review

Temple Abattoir are a band from Spain that has had their previous release reviewed in the zine with a musical style that I would describe as being raw black metal and this is a review of their 2010 cassette "Sacrilege & Savagery" which was released by Nigra Mors.

Drums range from mid paced to fast with a lot of brutal blast beats, while the bass playing has a very dark tone with a sound of its own that is very evil sounding.

Rhythm guitars alternate between mid paced to fast raw black metal riffs that are also very brutal and contain a good amount of melody and on one track that use a slight thrash edge, while the lead guitars are very chaotic and melodic sounding black metal guitar solos.

Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams with some deep death metal growls thrown in times and on a couple of tracks there is a small amount of spoken word female vocals, while the lyrics cover anti christian themes with a touch of Luciferian and Necromantic philosophies, as for the production on this recording it has a very dark and raw sound to it mixed in with a great amount of brutality.

In my opinion this is another great release from Temple Abattoir and if you where a fan of their previous recording, you should enjoy this one as well. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Luciferian Discipline" "Necromantic Amok" and "Seven Torments Over Megiddo". RECOMMENDED BUY.

Temple Abattoir/Nechronicles/2008/Demo Review

Temple Abattoir are a band from Spain that plays a raw form of black metal and this is a review of their 2008 demo "Nechronicles".

Drums utilize a mixture of mid paced beats that end up turning into some really fast and brutal blast beats, while the bass playing is mixed down real low in the mix and it is all rhythm bass.

Rhythm guitars are mostly really fast black metal riffs are the mid 90's vein and you can hear some Swedish influences and there is not a guitar lead present on this recording.

Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams with some occasional deep growls, while the production is very raw sounding which is good for a black metal demo, since I downloaded the demo, I did not end up with a copy of the lyrics, but they seem to touch on some dark topics.

In my opinion this band is good at what they do and this is a good demo and I feel this band needs to record another demo and work on their sound some more which I know that they have it in them. If you are a fan of classic black metal in the mid 90's vein this is a good demo to listen to and it has a very raw and aggressive sound.

Recommended tracks are "Bastards Of Creation" and "VX".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
