Vampyric Burial/Rites Ov Gloriovs Heretical Exhvmation/Apo Kosmos Khaos Productions/2019 Demo Review

Vampyric  Burial  are  a  duo  from  Maryland  that  plays  a  very  raw  and  lo-fi  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2019  demo  "Rites  Ov  Gloriovs  Heretical  Exhvmation"  which  was  released  by  Apo  Kosmos  Khaos  Productions.

A  very  dark,  heavy  and  lo-fi  sound  starts  off  the  demo  while the  vocals  are  mostly  grim  yet  high  itched  black  metal  screams.  Distorted  amp  noise  can  also  be  heard  briefly  as  well  as  some  dark  sounding  melodies  also  being  utilized  and  times  and  the  tremolo  picking  also  gives  the  music  more  of  a  raw  feeling.

When  the  music  speeds  up  a  decent  amount  of  blast  beats  can  be  heard  while  the  music  is  also  very  heavily  influenced  by  the  mid  90'  demo  style  of  black  metal.  All  of  the  musical  instruments  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  as  well  as  the  songs  also  adding  in  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  and  when  synths  are  utilized  they  bring  in  elements  of  dark  ambient.

Vampyric  Burial  plays  a  style  of  black  metal  that  is very  raw  and  lo-fi  sounding.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  Vampirism,  Lycanthropy,  Mythology  and  Folklore  themes.

In  my  opinion  Vampyric  Burial  are  a  very  great  sounding  raw  and  lo-fi  black  metal  duo  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of t his  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  demo.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Drowning  In  Hideous  Lupine  Shadows"  and  "Storm  Recalls  The  Blood  of  The  Wolf".  8  out  of  10.

Vitam Eternam/Blackened Dreams Of Nocturn/Wild Rags Records/1997 CD Review

Vitam  Eternam  where  a  band  from  Iowa  that  played  a  very  atmospheric,  raw  and  primitive  form  of  vampyric  occult  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  1997  ep  "Blackened  Dreams  Of  Nocturn"  which  was  released  by  Wild  Rags  Records.

Drums  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  drumming  with  a  good  amount  of  blast  beats  being  thrown  into  the  music  at  times,  while  the  keyboards  bring  a  very  dark  and  atmospheric  sound  to  the  music,  as  for  the  bass  playing  it  has  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  is  coming  out  of  the  guitars  and  at  times  they  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.

Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  black  metal  riffs  that  are  very  raw  and  primitive  sounding  with  a  great  amount  of  dark  sounding  melodies  being  thrown  into  the  riffing  as  well  as  a  brief  use  of  soft  and  clean  playing  and  there  are  no  guitar  solos  or  leads  present  on  this  recording,  as  for  the  acoustic  guitars  which  are  only  utilized  briefly  they  use  finger  picking  to  enhance  the  darkness  that  is  coming  out  of  the  music.

Vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  that  have  a  depressive  tone  to  them at  times  with  a  brief  use  of  spoken  word  parts  and  clean  singing,  while  the  lyrics  cover  Vampyric  Occultism,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  dark,  raw  and  primitive  sound  to  it.

In  my  opinion  Vitam  Eternam  where  a  very  great  sounding  atmospheric,  raw  and  primitive  sounding  vampyric  occult  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  ep.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Part  1:  Blackened  Dreams  Of  Nocturn"  and  "Part  3:  The  Swoon".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
