Consummatio/Circulus/Altare Productions/2025 Full Length Review

  This  is  a  review  of  another  recording  from  Portugal's  solo  project  Consummatio  which  shows  the  music  going  for  a  very  raw  and  atmospheric  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  his  2025  album  "Circulus"  which  was  released  by  Altare  Productions.

  Nature  orientate d soundscapes  start  of  the  album  before  going  into  a  very  fast  and  raw  musical  direction  which  also  utilizes  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  Vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  while  all  of  the  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length  and  the  music  also  adds  in  a  lot  of  old  school  influences.

  At  times  the  music  also  gets  very  lo-fi  sounding  while  the  album  also  has  its  atmospheric  moments.  Clear  singing  can  also  be  heard  briefly  along  with  some  of  the  riffing  also  adding  in  a  small  amount  of  melody  and  the  guitar  leads  are  also  done  in  a  very  dark  style,  synths  are  also  added  into  certain  sections  of  the  recording  and  one  track  also  adds  in  a  brief  use  of  field  recordings  as  well  as  one  song  also  being  an  instrumental.

  On  this  recording  Consummatio  expands  on  the  raw,  lo-fi  and  atmospheric  style  of  black  metal  that  he  introduced  on  his  previous  release.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  Portuguese  and  cover  the  infinite  space  between  dreams  and  reality.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Consummatio  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  raw  and  atmospheric  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Encontro"  and  "Eterno".  8  out  of  10.

Consummatio/Desaevio/Death Prayer Records/2022 Full Length Review

 

  Consummatio  are  a  solo  project  from  Portugal  that  plays  a  very  raw,  lo-fi  and  atmospheric  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  his  2026  album  "Desaevio"  which  was  released  by  Death  Prayer  Records.

  A  very  fast  and  raw  sound  starts  off  the  album  along  with  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast b eats.  At  times  the  music  also  captures  a  very  lo-fi  atmosphere  while  the  vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  as  well  as  most  of  the  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length..

  A  lot  of  the  music  is  also  very  heavily  influenced  by  the  90's  era  of  the  genre  while  the  album  also  adds  in  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.  Clear  singing  can  also  be  heard  at  times  along  with  some  tracks  also  adding  in  a  small  amount  of  clean  playing,  the  album  also  has  its  atmospheric  moments  as  well  as  the  solos  and  leads  also  being  done  in  a  very  dark  yet  when  they  are  utilized  and  one  track  is  also  an  instrumnental.

  Consummatio  plays  a  style  of  black  metal  that  is  very  raw,  lo-fi  and  atmospheric  sounding.  the  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  Portuguese  and  cover  nature,  darkness  and  melancholy  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Consummatio  are  a  very  great  sounding  raw,  lo-fi  and  atmospheric  black  metal  solo  project  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  recording.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Tormenta"  and  "Finalidade".  8  out  of  10.
