Orgy of HELL Interview

.1.For those that have never heard of you before, can you tell us a little bit about the band?

Nobody has really heard of us. I know this interview will break us through big time though! OOH is myself and a couple co-conspirators. We met through the occult community here in Salem, MA. This town is polluted with poseur tourists and souvenir shops. We are a reminder that darkness and evil still lurks in the depths of Salem Towne.

2.Recently you have released a demo, can you tell us a little bit more about the musical style that you went for on the recording?

There's a ritualistic element that we wanted to capture. That part comes natural to us. But we also wanted to honor evil entities of the past: Bathory, Samael, Beherit, Necrovore and Fulgor are the inspirations behind our music.

3.A lot of your lyrics cover satanic and occult themes, can you tell us a little bit more about your interest in the dark arts?

I grew up at the threshold of various occult gateways- traditional witchcraft, LaVeyan Satanism, Hermeticism, Wicca... This first demo in particular focuses on the Left Hand Path and more importantly, female personifications of evil - and there are many... I've met a few!

4.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'orgyOf HELL'?

We wanted something that sounds like an old Satanic exploitation horror film.

5.Can you tell us a little bit more about the artwork that is presented on the demo cover?

It's actually a public domain art piece I found. The original intent was to commission an artist, but I saw that witch burning art and knew it was meant to be.

6.Has the band done any live shows or is this strictly a studio project?

No shows - we have a general disdain for people and group entertainment gatherings, and also the individual members are currently travelling. We'll converge every few months to work on this project, and the best bits will eventually show up on another demo.

7.So far very little is known about the band, do you prefer to keep a lower profile?

We just don't have any desire to promote the project - releasing some music on bandcamp once in a while is good enough. Anyone that is meant to hear it will be drawn to it. These days it takes no effort to find obscure music and that ruins the mystique in some ways. We dwell deep down there, and keep ourselves to ourselves.

8.Currently, you are unsigned, are you looking for a label or have received any interest?

We'd be interested in doing a split or a 7" - something with minimal commitment.

9.On a worldwide level how has the reaction been to your music by fans of black metal?

This music was originally meant for our inner circle here, so I've only just begun to sprinkle our blasphemies to the external world. People keep asking for a cassette version, so maybe we'll do that.

10.Where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?

We try to strike a balance that is raw and reduced, but with maximum evil. We don't use guitars, so it's all bass and synths holding down the atmosphere. There's still much to explore within this framework.

11.what are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?

Other than the artists I mentioned earlier, we all enjoy coldwave, darkwave, industrial and noise music. Lately, I've only been listening to Radio Werewolf.

12.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?

Thanks for your interest in our sounds. The regal pulse of Lucifer is strong and courses through our veins.

Orgy of HELL/Witching Demo#1/2023 Review

Orgy  of  HELL  are  a  band  from  Salem,  Massachusetts  that  plays  a  very  satanic  and  occult  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  released  2023  demo  "Witching".

A  very  fast  and  raw  sound  starts  off  the  demo  along  with  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  Vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  while  the  bass  guitars  also  take  over  as  a  lead  instrument  and  keyboards  are  also  utilized  quite  a  bit  throughout  the  recording.

Dark  sounding  melodies  can  also  be  heard  at  times  while the  songs  also  add  in  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.  When  spoken  word  parts  are  utilized  they  also  give  the  music  more  of  a  ritualistic  touch.

Orgy  of  HELL  plays  a  style  of  black  that  that  is  very  raw,  occult,  satanic  and  ritualistic  sounding.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while t he  lyrics  cover  Satanism,  Occultism  and  Witchcraft  themes.

In  my  opinion  Orgy  of  HELL  are  a  very  great  sounding  satanic  and  occult  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  demo.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "April  Wine  For  The  Devil's  Whore".  8  out  of  10.
