Water sounds start off the album along with some clean playing a few seconds later while the vocals are mostly depressive black metal screams. Orchestration is also utilized at times along with t he solos and leads also being done in a very melodic style with touches of blackgaze and when the music speeds up a decent amount of blast beats can be heard.
Throughout the album you can also hear a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while the music also has its atmospheric moments. When tremolo picking is added into the fast riffing they also give the recording more of a raw feeling along with the riffs also adding in a lot of melody.
The songs also add in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as well as some growls also being used at times along with all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them, the closing track is also an instrumental. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover madness, loss and grief.
In my opinion Inquinamentum are a very great sounding atmospheric, depressive and melodic black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Monolith Against The Tide" "Sunless Deep" and "Echoes Of The Lost". 8 out of 10.
