Anthrodium are a duo from Massachusetts that plays a very raw and dissonant form of black metal and this is a review of their self released 2022 demo "Drape The Earth In Horror".
Horror orientated soundscapes start off the demo before going into a heavier musical direction while melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing. Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams while the only track that is present on the demo is also over 12 minutes in length and all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them.
Demonic growls can also be heard at times while the riffs also add in a decent amount of dissonant structures. When the music speeds up a decent amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard which also gives the demo more of a raw feeling and the song also adds in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
Anthrodium plays a style of black metal that is very raw, dissonant and bleak sounding. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover horror themes.
In my opinion Anthrodium are a very great sounding raw and dissonant black metal duo and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this demo. 8 out of 10.
