Abyssal Temple are a solo project from Brazil that plays a very raw form of black metal and this is a review of his 2022 compilation which consists of both demos and will be released in July as a single album by Inferna Profundus Records.
Drum beats start off the compilation along with some heavier riffing a few seconds later before going into a very fast and raw musical direction which also utilizes a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams and the music also captures a lo-fi atmosphere at times.
Throughout the compilation you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with some dark sounding melodies also being added into some of the guitar riffing. Both of the demos also capture the raw and lo-fi atmosphere while the songs also mix in influences from the more underground eras of the second and third wave styles as well as the music also always sticking to a heavier direction.
Abyssal Temple plays a style of black metal that is very raw and lo-fi sounding. The production sounds very dark and r aw while the lyrics cover Occultism, Luciferian, Necromancy, Darkness and Blasphemy themes.
In my opinion Abyssal Temple are a very great sounding raw and lo-fi black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this compilation. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "De Scientia Mortuorum" "LuciferiAeturnum Gloriam" "Rise The Necromantical Pyre" and "Moon Of Blood". 8 out of 10.
