Jure Grando are a solo project form Indonesia that plays a very harsh, bleak and raw form of black metal and this is a review of his 2022 album "Archaic Moon Mysticism" which will be released in July by Inferna Profundus Records.
A synth orientated intro starts off the album before going into a very fast, raw and lo-fi sound which also utilizes a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams while the songs also mix in a great amount of 90's influences and at times the music also captures a very lo-fi atmosphere.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while melodies can also be heard in some of the guitar riffing. Most of the songs sound like they could of easily been recorded and released more than 25 years ago and some tracks also add in a small amount of clean playing, one of the tracks is also an instrumental.
Jure Grando plays a style of black metal that is very raw in the 90's tradition. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover darkness, evil, mysticism and unholy themes.
In my opinion Jure Grando are a very great sounding raw black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Within The Night's Veil" and "Throne of Illusion". 8 out of 10.
