Swazond are a band from Tokyo, Japan that plays a crust influenced form of black metal and this is a review of their 2022 album "Cursed Inheritance" which was released by Zero Dimensional Records.
A very heavy crust punk influenced starts off the album while all of the musical instruments on the recording also have a very powerful sound. Blast beats can also be heard in the faster sections of the songs along with the vocals also adding in a decent mixture of deep growls and high pitched black metal screams.
Melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing while the songs also add in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. When faster tremolo picking is utilized they also give the music more of a raw feeling along with one of the tracks being a synth orientated instrumental before returning back to a heavier direction on later tracks as well as the mid tempo sections also adding in d beats and when guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very melodic style.
Swazond plays a musical style that takes black metal and crust and mixes them together to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very raw and heavy while the lyrics cover dark and violent themes.
In my opinion Swazond are a very great sounding mixture of black metal and crust and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Goddess Annihilation" "Too Late" and "Hereditary". 8 out of 10.
