Ialdabaoth are a band from France that plays an occult mixture of war, black metal, grindcore, industrial, ambient and noise and this is a review of their self released 2025 album "G.O.A.T/S.C.A.P.E".
A very fast and raw sound starts off the compilation along with a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. All of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them along with the faster sections of the songs also capturing the brutality of war metal and grindcore and the vocals are a mixture of black metal screams. growls and shouts.
Throughout the compilation you can also hear a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while some of the riffing also adds in some dissonant melodies. Ambient style soundscapes can also be heard at times along with some guitar solos and leads also being utilized briefly as well as some of the tracks also adding in apocalyptic industrial and noise orientated soundscapes and one song is also an instrumental, choirs are also used briefly.
Ialdabaoth plays a musical style that takes war, black metal, grindcore, industrial, ambient and noise and mixes them together to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover Chaos Magick, Occultism, Gnosticism, Philosophy and Religion themes.
In my opinion Ialdabaoth are a very great sounding occult mixture of war, black metal, grindcore, industrial, ambient and noise and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "World Of Enemies" "The Thousand One [Keyless] (L'Enfer selon Percussive Spectre)" and "Temples Under Attack/Nestled in Nethers". 8 out of 10.
