Blasphemy are a band from Vancouver B.C, Canada that where one of the originators of black/death/war metal and this is a review of their 1990 album "Fallen Angel Of Doom" which was released by Wild Rags Records.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with a great amount of brutal sounding blast beats being thrown into the music, while the bass playing has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing t hat is coming out of the guitars, as for the sound effects when they are utilized they bring a very dark and evil sound to the music.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast riffs that combine the heaviest, darkest, raw and primitive elements of black metal, death metal and grindcore to create their own form of war metal, while the lead guitars are very chaotic, raw and primitive sounding black/death metal guitar solos and leads.
VOcals are mostly deep black/death metal growls with some high pitched screams and whispered vocals, while the lyrics cover Satanism, Anti Christian, Occultism and Dark themes, a s for the production it has a very dark, raw and primitive sound to it.
In my opinion Blasphemy are a very great sounding black/death/war metal hybrid and if you are interested in the origins of this musical genre, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Fallen Angel Of Doom" "Ritual" "Demoniac" and "Goddess Of Perversity". RECOMMENDED BUY.
