Vuvyr are a band from Switzerland that has been featured before in this zine and plays a raw mixture of black metal and crust and this is a review of their 2014 ep "Incinerated Gods" which was released by Throatruiner Records.
A very fast and raw old school black metal sound starts off the ep along with some blast beats and a few seconds later high pitched screams are added into the music along with all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them and when solos and leads are utilized they are very dark and melodic sounding.
A lot of the riffs use a great amount of melody and elements of crust and hardcore can be heard in some parts of the songs along with a touch of post black metal and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast part and the influences are perfectly balnced between both old school and modern styles.
Vuyvr plays a style of black metal that is very raw while also bringing in elements of crust and hardcore and using post black metal style solos to make their music stand out a bit more, the production sounds very raw while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Vuyvr and if you are a fan of crust influenced black metal, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Hate is A Black Hole" and "Devoured". 8 out of 10.
