Flamme Noire are a band from Quebec, Canada that plays a very raw and lo-fi form of black metal and this is a review of their 2017 ep "War Between Within" which was released by Wulfrune Worxx.
A very distorted and lo-fi sound starts off the ep before going into a very fast and raw black metal direction that also uses a great amount of blast beats as well as some high pitched screams and the riffs also have a primitive feel at times while the guitar elads also stick to t he same format with a more melodic side.
Throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and a lot of the songs have a sloppy feeling that goes back to the poorly produced black metal demos of the 90's while also having a more modern and aggressive approach and one of the tracks is very long and epic in length and all of the songs stick to a heavy and raw musical style.
Flamme Noire plays a style of black metal that is very raw and lo-fi and also have an atmosphere that is very underground, the production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion Flamme Noire are a very great sounding raw and lo-fi black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Ahead In Unknown" and "War Between Within". 8 out of 10.
