Exeguy are a band from Portland, Oregon that plays a mixture of black, death and war metal and this is a review of their 2014 cassette "Architect Of Subjugation" which will be released this month by Wohrt Records.
A very dark and heavy bestial black/death metal sound starts off the ep before speeding up, adding in blast beats and high pitched black/war metal screams and you can hear a lot of the 90's black and death metal genres in the bands musical style along with a great amount of rawness and brutality.
Most of the focus as on more of a raw and brutal sound that also sees the band using a good mixture of black and death metal and when leads are added into the music they are only there for a few seconds and you can also hear a great amount of influences from both the Canadian and Australian war metal bands and after awhile there is a brief use of ritualistic sounds on one song while the last track brings in a few seconds of spoken word parts.
Exeguy creates some very dark, raw and brutal music on this recording bringing in a very bestial and death metal influenced form of war metal, the production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover anti christian, war, dark and violent themes.
In my opinion Exeguy are a very great sounding mixture of black, war and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out the band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "NanoManifestation Of Virulent Antichrist (C.E.R.N)" and "Nuclear Eschataon Protocol". 8 out of 10.
