Nuitville is a solo project from Ukraine that plays blackgaze and this is a review of his 2019 ep "When The Darkness Falls" which will be released on June 10th by Ashen Dominion.
Atmospheric sounding synths start off the ep while the music also brings in a great amount of shoegaze elements. When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are done in a very melodic style along with the faster sections of the songs also bringing in a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats which also gives the music more of a raw feeling.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as well as the riffs also adding in a good amount of melody. Vocals also bring in a mixture of clear singing and black metal screams, whispers and clean playing are also added onto the second track and most of the songs are long and epic in length, the ep also closes with a cover of Amesoeurs "Recueillement".
Nuitville plays a musical style that takes atmospheric post black metal and shoegaze and mixes them together to create a sound of his own. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover night themes.
In my opinion Nuitville are a very great sounding blackgaze solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Cold Water". 8 out of 10.
