Vacant Body are a band from Australia that plays a very aggressive form of black metal and this is a review of their self titled 2019 demo which was released by Total Darkness Propaganda.
A very dark yet clean sounding intro starts off the demo before going into a very fast musical direction which also uses a great amount of blast beats along with the guitar leads being done in a very melodic style and the vocals are mostly grim sounding black metal screams and when tremolo picking is utilized it gives the songs more of a raw feeling.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them. The riffs also bring in a decent amount of melody and the music also brings in a good mixture of both modern and old school influences.
Vacant Body plays a style of black emtal that is very modern and aggressive sounding while adding something a little bit different to the genre. The production sounds very raw yet powerful at the same time while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion Vacant Body are a very great sounding modern and aggressive black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Light That Never Prevails". 8 out of 10.
