L'Espectre Que Alimenta La Flama Dels Ancestres are a duo from Spain that plays a mixture of epic black metal, dark ambient and dungeon synth and this is a review of their 2024 album "Funesta Epifana" which will be released on July 26th by Negra Nit.
Dark ambient style synths start off the album and also utilize a variety of many different sounding keys. Elements of dungeon synth are also utilized quite a bit throughout the recording while all of the tracks are also very long and epic in length and the vocals are mostly grim sounding black metal screams.
Percussions are also utilized quite a bit throughout the recording while the music also adds in a lot of 90's influences. At times the album also captures a very atmospheric and lo-fi atmosphere along with each song also sounding very different from each other and the recording also avoids the use of electric guitars, spoken words are also added on the closing track.
L'Espectre Que Alimenta La Flama Dels Ancestres plays a musical style that takes epic black metal, dark ambient and dungeon synth and mixes them together to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very dark and lo-fi while the lyrics are written in Catalan and cover horror, dread and metaphysical themes.
In my opinion L'Espectre Que Alimenta La Flama Dels Ancestres is a very great sounding mixture of epic black metal, dark ambient and dungeon synth and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this duo. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Funesta Epifania". 8 out of 10.
