Bezeha are a band from Greece that plays an old school form of satanic black metal and this is a review of their self released 2017 album "The Era Of The Northern City".
A very dark and distorted sound starts off the album along with some drum beats a few seconds later before going into a very fast and raw black metal direction that also uses a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats while the vocals are mostly high pitched screams and the music is heavily rooted in the 90's second wave tradition.
A lot of the music sounds like it could of easily been recorded and released 20 years ago while the riffs also bring in a decent amount of melody along with the songs also bringing in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the solos and leads are done in a very dark yet melodic fashion.
Some tracks also bring in a small amount of clean playing along and the vocals also get very grim at times and one track also brings in a brief use of Gregorian chants.and whispers can also be heard briefly and when female vocals are added onto the recording they give the music more of an operatic feeling.
Bezeha plays a style of satanic black metal that is very raw and traditional in the second wave tradition, the production sounds very dark, raw and old school while the lyrics cover Satanism, Occultism and Darkness themes.
In my opinion Bezeha are a very great sounding old school satanic black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Era Of The Northern City" "In Nomine Del Nostra Sathanas" and "Apocalypse". 8 out of 10.
