Ereskigal are a duo from the United Kingdom that plays an occult form of black metal and this is a review of t heir 2017 ep "Sojourn" which was released by Blackwood Productions.
A very heavy and raw sound along with a great amount of tremolo picking starts off the ep while the faster sections of the songs also bring in a great amount of brutal blast beats along with the vocals being very angry and hateful black metal screams and death metal growls are also used at times.
A decent amount of melody can be heard in the guitar riffing while the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and a couple of the tracks are very long and epic in length along with all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them and clean playing is also used briefly and the guitar solos and leads a re done in a very dark yet melodic fashion.
Ereskigal plays a style of occult black metal that is very aggressive, raw, dark and melodic sounding, the production sounds very raw and heavy while the lyrics cover Darkness and Occultism themes.
In my opinion Ereskigal are a very great sounding occult black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Sojourn" and "Ouroboros". 8 out of 10.
