Impiedoso are a band from Brazil that plays a very satanic and occult form of black metal and this is a review of their self released 2017 album which will be released on July 22nd.
Ritualistic whispers and acoustic guitars start off the album before adding in melodic chants and heavier guitars and after the into the music goes into a very fast and raw musical direction which also uses a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats while the vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams.
All of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them while the music also uses a great amount of dark sounding melodies along with the music being very heavily rooted in the early 90's and the solos and leads also remain true to an old school style of black metal as well as having their melodic moments.
Throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while death metal growls are also added into certain sections of the recording and some of the riffing also adds in a touch of thrash and some of the tracks are also very long and epic in length and as the album progresses melodic chants along with acoustic guitars return briefly and one track also adds in a small amount of spoken word parts.
Impiedoso plays a style of black metal that is very satanic and occult in the early 90's tradition along with some thrash and death metal elements, the production sounds very raw and old school while the lyrics are written in a mixture of English and Portuguese and cover Satanism and Occultism themes.
In my opinion Impiedoso are a very great sounding satanic, occult black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Pelas Desgracas de Deus" "Liberty To Satan" "Fire' and "Under The Moon's Domain". 8/5 out of 10.
