Kuar Nhial are a band from Belgium that plays post black metal and this is a review of their self titled 2018 album which will be released on November 9th by Consouling Sounds.
Atmospheric sounding synths start off the album before going into more of a heavier and melodic direction along with all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them while all of the tracks are very long and epic in length and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard.
When tremolo picking is utilized it gives the songs more of a raw feeling while the solos and leads are done in a very melodic style along with the vocals being done in a deep and angry shouting style of black metal as well as the songs also bringing in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the music also brings in a great amount of post metal elements and as the album progresses a brief use of acoustic guitars can also be heard.
Kuar Nhial plays a style of post metal that is very raw, melodic, modern and atmospheric sounding, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics are written in Belgian and cover dark themes.
In my opinion Kuar Nhial are a very great sounding post black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Corvus" and "Lamantate". 8 out of 10.
