Deus Sabaoth are a band from Ukraine that plays a melodic form of black metal and this is a review of their self released 2025 album "Cycle Of Death" which will be released on January 17th.
A very dark, heavy and melodic sound starts off the album while you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording. When the music speeds up a decent amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard which also gives the songs more of a raw feeling.
Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams while the riffs also add in a decent amount of melody. Throughout the recording you can also hear a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with some spoken words also being used on a couple of songs, elements of Baroque music are also utilized quite a bit on a lot of tracks.
Death metal growls can also be heard on some of the songs along with one track also introducing clear vocals onto the album Keyboards and stringed instruments are also added into certain sections of the recording. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover different perspectives on religion and the existential concerns of those who confront their morality while also rejecting any religious belief.
In my opinion Deus Saboath are a very great sounding classical music influenced melodic black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Priest" Executioner" and "Beginning of New War". 8 out of 10.
