Sarkom are a band from Norway that has had music reviewed before in this zine and on this recording plays a very traditional form of Norwegian black metal and this is a review of their 2025 album "Exceed in2 Chaos" which will be released in February by Dusktone.
A very dark and distorted sound starts off the album while the riffs also add in a decent amount of melody. Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams along with the faster sections of the songs also adding in a lot of tremolo picking and blast beats which also gives the recording more of a raw feeling.
The album also adds in influences from both the old school and modern eras of the genre while the songs also add in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. Angry shouts can also be heard at times along with the solos and leads also being done in a very melodic style as well as some of the tracks also being very long and epic in length, spoken words are also utilized at times and clean playing is also added towards the end.
On this recording Sarkom takes the raw aggression of the second wave era and mixes it in with the more modern style of Norwegian black metal to create a very aggressive album. The album sounds very professional while the lyrics cover chaos, death and hatred themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Sarkom and if you are a fan of Norwegian black metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Enter As A Fool, Exit As A Beast" "Spectral Prophet in A Demonized Dream" and "Nemesis". 8 out of 10.
