Nattefrost/Terrorist/Season Of Mist/2005 CD Review

Nattefrost  are  a  band  from  Norway  that  is  a  side  project  of  the  front man  from  Carpathian  Forest  with  the  musical  style  on  this  recording  being  a  very  raw,  primitive  and  old  school  form  of  black  metal  with  thrash  and  punk  elements  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2005  album  "Terrorist"  which  was  released  by  Season  Of  Mist.

Drums  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  drumming  with  some  blast  beats  being  utilized  at  times,  while  the  bass  playing  has  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  are  coming  out  of  the  guitars  and  at  times  they  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.

Rhythm  guitars  range   from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  old  school  style  Norwegian  black  metal  riffs  that  are  very  raw  and  primitive  sounding  along  with  some  thrash  and punk  influences  being  thrown  into  the  riffing,  while  the  lead  guitars  when  they  are  utilized  are  very  raw  and  primitive  sounding  underground  metal  guitar  solos  and  leads.

Vocals  are mostly  grim  sounding  black  metal  screams  with  some  shouts, deep  growls  and spoken  word  parts  being  utilized  at  times  as  well  as  some  samples  in  addition  there  are  some  humorous  type  of  vocals  being  used  on  one  song,  while  the  lyrics  cover  Satanism,  Darkness,  Suicide,  Violence  and  Perverted  themes  with  some  songs  being  written  in  Norwegian,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  raw  and  primitive  sound  to  it.

In  my  opinion  this  was  a  very  great  sounding  recording  from  Nattefrost  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  band,  you  probably  already  own  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Black  Metal  Suicide - Claws  Of  Perdition"  "Terrorist"  "Satan  Is  Endless,  Satan  Is  Timeless"  and  "Goat  Worship".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
