Tenebrae In Perpetuum are a band from Italy that plays a very primordial and mystical form of black metal and this is a review of their 2025 album "Vacuum Coeli" which was released by Avantgarde Music.
A very dark sounding intro starts off the album before going into a heavier direction while dissonant style melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing. When the music speeds up a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard which also gives the songs more of a raw feeling.
Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams while the songs also add in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. Synths can also be heard at times along with a couple of the tracks also being very long and epic in length, clear singing is also utilized in certain sections of the album as well as the solos and leads also bringing in a more chaotic style.
On this recording Tenebrae In Perpetuum goes for a very aggressive, traditional and modern form of black metal. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics are written in Italian and cover existence, time and the inevitability of the end.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Tenebrae In Perpetuum and if you are a fan of raw and dissonant black metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Carmen ad Noctem" "Inverno, e stato" and "Vacuum Coeli". 8 out of 10.
