Burning Winds are a solo project from Michigan that plays a very old school, satanic and blasphemous form of black metal and this is a review of his 2025 album "Hell And Damnation" which will be released in September by Werewolf Records.
A very dark, evil and apocalyptic sounding intro starts off the album before going into a heavier direction while the vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams while the faster sections of the songs also add in a great amount of tremolo picking and blast b eats which also gives the recording more of a raw feeling.
Most of t he album is also very heavily rooted in the early 90's era while the songs also add in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. Intros are also added in between every track along with all of the music also being very heavily influenced by both the first and second wave era's of the genre, synths can also be heard at times and all of the riffing is done on power chords.
Burning Winds plays a style of black metal that is very blasphemous and evil sounding in the early 90's tradition. The production sounds very raw and old school while the lyrics cover Satanism, Blasphemy, Death and Death Destruction themes.
In my opinion Burning Winds are a very great sounding satanic, blasphemous and old school black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Demons Of Darkness" "Hellish Plague" "Burning Crucifix" and "Morbid Souls". 8 out of 10.
