Syllogomania are a band from Poland that plays a very solitary, aggressive and rotten form of black metal and this is a review of their self released 2025 album which will be released in September by Loudriver Records.
A very dark, heavy and melodic sound starts off the album while clean playing can also be heard on a couple of tracks. When guitar solos and leads are utilized they also add in a great amount of melody and when the music speeds up a great amount of tremolo picking and blast b eats can be heard which also gives the recording more of a raw feeling.
Vocals are mostly angry sounding black metal screams mixed in with a few growls while the songs also add in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. Some of the tracks are also very long and epic in length along with the music taking an old school aggression ad mixing it with the more modern style of the genre, clear singing and spoken words are also added on the closing track.
Syllogomania plays a style of black metal that is very aggressive, heavy and modern sounding. The production sounds very raw and heavy while the lyrics are written mostly in English with one song being in Polish cover dark, desolate, loneliness and hateful themes.
In my opinion Syllogomania are a very great sounding modern and aggressive black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Drink The Fire, Fan The Flames" and "Slumber". 8 out of 10.
