>1. Can you tell us a little bit about the band for those that have never heard of you before?

We are a trashy black wad of energy haha

> 2.How would you describe your musical sound?

>pretty much punk/metal to put it bluntly. Blast beat/d beat driven cross between crusty toilet rock and early 90s norwegian black metal.

>3. What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band explores with the music?

>haha anything offensive pretty much, from rape, to drugs, to horror movies, to satan. Your standard family oriented sing along songs haha.

>4. What is the meaning and inspiration behind the bands name?

>The Beyond is an early 70s Lucio Fulci movie. 70s Italian horror for those who aren't familiar with him. 1 of my favorites.

>5. What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and how  would you describe your stage performance?

> we played several shows that have been really fun. we love to play at the Brass Rail in Fort Wayne Indiana, with The Lurking Corpses. we have opened up for a few big name bands as well, ie-Horna, The Mentors, Kommendant, etc. our stage performances always as energetic as possible. We try to make all recordings as close to a live show as we can.

6. Do you have any touring plans for the future?

> we would like to do a full tour, but as of now we have just been doing small mini tours/weekends. But we do travel a good bit.

7. On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of black metal and crust?

> the feedback we've gotten with our music has been relatively positive from both metalheads and punk rockers alike, which is what we r going for.

>8. What is going on with the other musical projects these days?

> well, our drummer is in a melodic black metal band called Horde of then Eclipse. I record a lot of industrial/ synth pop music when I'm not working on new material for the beyond.

9. What direction do you see your music heading into on future releases?

> I see us keeping on with the same thing we have been doing. some songs straight up punk rock, some songs ripping black metal, and other songs a cross between the two.

>10. What are some bands or musical styles that have influenced your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?

> the beyond influences stem mainly from group like GG Allin, Dark Throne, Gorgoroth, The Casualties, etc. grimy black metal and punk rock.

>11. How would you describe your views on Satanism and Occultism?

> we don't really involve any serious views on the occult in the lyrics I write for the beyond.

>12. Outside of music what are some of your interests?

we are all into different things. Cray is really into writing, R:W is really into sports...i'm a huge horror geek haha. But dick and fart jokes is something we all have in common.

>13. Any final words or thoughts before we wrap this interview?

Australasia/Sin4tr4/Good Mourning Sounds/2012 EP Review

  Australasia  are  a  band  that  plays  an  instrumental  form  of  black  metal  mixed  with  post  rock  and  ambient  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2012  ep  "Sin4tr4"  which  was  released  by  Good  Mourning  Sounds.

  Drums  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  drumming  with  some  blast  beats  being  utilized  at  times,  while  the  bass  playing  has  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  are  coming  out  of  the  guitars,  as  for  the synths  when  they  are  utilized  they  bring  a  very  dark  and  atmospheric  sound  to  the  recording  with  influences  from  electronic  music.

  Rhythm  guitars  when  they  are  in  the  heavy  are  very  melodic  sounding  primitive  black  metal  riffs  while  the  soft  and  clean  playing  is  more  in  the  ambient  and  post  rock  direction  and  there  are  no  guitar  solos  or  leads  present  on  this  recording.

  Vocals  are  mostly  absent  from  this  recording  with  the  music  being  mostly  instrumental  but  there  is  a  brief  use  of  spoken  word  parts  and  clean  singing  female  vocals,  while  the  song  themes  cover  darkness  and  nature,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  dark,  raw  and  primitive  sound  to  it.

  In  my  opinion  Australasia  are  a  very  great  sounding  hybrid  of  black  metal,  post  rock,  and  ambient  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Antenna"  "Scenario"  and  "Retina".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.

  The  Beyond  are  a  band  from  Pennsylvania  that  plays  a  mixture  of  crustcore,  punk  rock,  and  raw  and  primitive  sounding  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2013  album  "Frostbitepanzerfuck"  which  was  released  by  Horror  Pain  Gore  Death  Productions.

  Drums  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  drumming  with  some  blast  beats  being  utilized  at  times,  while  the  bass  playing h as  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  are  coming  out  of  the  guitars.

  Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  riffs  that  combine  raw  and  primitive  sounding  black  metal  with  crust  and  punk  rock with  some  dark  sounding  melodies  being thrown  into  the  riffing  as  well  as  some  thrash  influences,  while  the  lead  guitars  are  very  old  school  sounding  punk  rock  guitar  solos  and  leads.

  Vocals  range  from  high  pitched black  metal  screams,  deep  growls  and  punk  rock  style  vocals, while  the  lyrics  cover  gore,  perverted  and  humor  themes,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  raw  and  primitive  sound  to  it.

  In  my  opinion  The  Beyond  are  a  very  great  sounding  hybrid  of  raw  and  primitive  black  metal,  crust  and  punk  rock  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of t his  musical  genre,  you  should c heck  out  this b and.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  'Goat  Sodomizer"  "Attack  Of  The  Zombie  Brigade"  and  "Necro  Overload".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.

  Crest  Of  Darkness  are  a  band  from  Norway  that  plays  a  very  melodic,  raw  and  primitive  form  of  evil  Norwegian  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2013  album  "In  The  Presence  Of  Death"  which  was  released  by  My  Kingdom  Music.

  Drums  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  drumming  with  some  blast  beats  being  utilized  at  times,  while  the  bass  playing  has  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  are  coming  out  of  the  guitars,  as  for  the  synths  when  they  are  utilized  they  bring  a  very  dark  and  atmospheric  sound  to  the  recording.

  Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  Norwegian  style  black  metal  riffs  that  are  very  dark,  melodic,  raw  and  primitive  sounding  with  a  great  amount  of  thrash  influences  being  thrown  into  the  riffing,  while  the  lead  guitars  when  they  are  utilized  are  very  melodic  sounding heavy  metal  guitar  solos  and  leads,  as  for  the  classical  guitars  which  are  only  used  on  the  last  song  they  use  finger  picking  to  enhance  the  darkness  that  is  coming  out  of  the  music.

  Vocals  are  mostly  grim  sounding  and  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  with  some  deep  growls  and  spoken  word  parts  being  utilized  at  times,  while  the  lyrics  cover  darkness,  evil,  and  occult  themes,  as  for  the  production  it  has a  very  strong,  powerful  and  heavy  sound  to  it.

  In  my  opinion  Crest  Of  Darkness  are  a  very  great  sounding  melodic,  raw  and  primitive  evil  Norwegian  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre, you  should c heck  out  this recording.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Demon  Child"  "The  Priest  From  Hell"  "Welcome  To My  Funeral"  and  "Vampire  Dreams".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.

  Inexistenz  are  a  1  man  band  from  Slovenia  that  plays  a  very  atmospheric,  dark,  raw  and  primitive  form  of  depressive  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2013  album  "Erfundene  Welten"  which  was  released  by  Naturmacht  Productions.

  Drum  programming  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  beats  with  give  the  music  a  militant  feeling,  while  the  bass  playing  has  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  are  coming  out  of  the  guitars,  as  for  the  synths  they  are  only  used  briefly  and  they  bring  a  dark  and  atmospheric  sound  to  the  recording.

  Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  depressive  black  riffs  that  are  very  dark,  atmospheric,  raw  and  primitive  sounding  along  with  a  brief  use  of  soft  and  clean  playing  as  well  as  some  melody  being  thrown  into  the  riffing  and  there  are  no  guitar  solos  or  leads  present  on  this  recording,  as  for  the  acoustic  guitars  when  they  are  utilized  they  use  finger  picking  and  full  chords  to  enhance  the darkness  that  is  coming  out  of  the  music.

  Vocals  are  mostly  grim  sounding  and  high  pitched  depressive  black  metal  screams  with  some  spoken  word  parts  being  utilized  at  times,  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  Slovenian  and  cover  death,  depression  and  nihilism,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  dark,  raw  and  primitive  sound  to  it  with  some  of  the songs  being  long  and  epic  in  length.

  In  my  opinion  Inexistenz  are  a  very  great  sounding  dark,  atmospheric,  raw  and  primitive  depressive  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  recording.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Erfunde  Welten"  and  "Zu  Misslingen  Bestimmt".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.

  In  my  opinion  Lugnasad  are  a  very  great  sounding  melodic,  raw  and  primitive  poetic/occult  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of t his  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Four  In  The  Fifth  Finger"  "The  Frigid  Feast"  and  "The  Veiled  Whore".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
