Forlet Sires are a band from Switzerland that plays a very atmospheric form of black metal with some elements of doom and post metal and this is a review of their 2016 album "Journey Towards Ruin" which was released by Cruel Bones.
A very heavy sound along with some grim black metal screams start off the album while also mixing in a great amount of dark sounding melodies in both the riffs and solos and the songs also mix in a great amount of atmospheric elements and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard.
During the faster sections of the songs a great amount of tremolo picking can be heard which also gives the music more of a raw black metal feeling and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and you can also hear a great amount of post and doom metal influences throughout the recording and clean playing can also be heard at times while some of the tracks are very long and epic in length and one track brings in female vocals and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and one song also adds in a few whispers.
Forlet Sires plays a musical style that is mostly rooted in atmospheric black metal while the post and doom metal elements gives the songs more originality, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark and depressive themes.
In my opinion Forlet Sires plays a very great style of atmospheric black metal with elements of post and doom metal and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Suffocating On Time" and "Deadlocked". 8 out of 10.
