Wound are a band from Germany that plays a mixture of black and death metal and this is a review of their album "Engrained" which will be released in 2017 by FDA Rekotz.
A very hard, melodic and dark sound starts off the album and you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard along with some black metal screams making their presence known on the recording.
Elements of death metal can be heard in the guitar riffing while the solos and leads are done in a very melodic style and the tremolo picking in the fast riffing gives the music more of a raw black metal feeling and clean guitars along with psychedelic elements and classic guitars can also be heard in certain sections of the recording briefly along with a brief use of spoken word parts and growls can also be heard in some parts of the songs while the music also bring in influences from both the black and death metal styles of Sweden and a couple of the tracks are very long and epic in length.
Wound plays a musical style that takes a raw and melodic form of black metal and mixes it with Swedish style death metal to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark and occult themes.
In my opinion Wound are a very great sounding mixture of black and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Gateway To Madness" "Carrion" and "The Plague". 8 out of 10.
