Shrine Of Insanabilis are a band from Germany that plays an occult form of black metal and this is a review of their 2019 "Vast Vortex Litanies" which will be released on October 17th by W.T.C Productions.
Dark soundscapes start off the album before going into a very fast and raw musical direction which also uses a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats.Vocals are mostly grim sounding black metal screams as well as some of the tracks being very long and epic in length.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with the music also adding in a great amount of dissonant structures which are also added into some of the guitar leads. Spoken word parts can also be heard in certain sections of the recording and as the album progresses the solos and leads go into more of a melodic direction and as the album progresses a brief use of avant garde style keyboards can be heard, all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them.
Shrine Of Insanabilis plays a style of occult black metal that is very modern and aggressive sounding. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Occultism and Void themes.
In my opinion Shrine Of Insanabilis are a very great sounding occult black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Parallax Endeavor" "Vortex" and "Verdict". 8 out of 10.
