Wrach are a solo project from Wales that plays a very raw form of occult black metal and this is a review of his 2024 album "Quae Infra Volo Videre" which will be released on August 31st by Apocalyptic Witchcraft.
Ritualistic soundscapes start off the album while melodies can also be heard in some of the heavier riffing. When the music speeds up a great amount of tremolo picking and blast b eats can b e heard which also gives the songs more of a raw feeling and the vocals are mostly grim sounding black metal screams.
A lot of the songs are also very long and epic in length while the tracks also add in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. Ritualistic soundscapes also return quite a bit throughout the album along with the guitar leads also being done in a melodic style when they are utilized, spoken word parts and clean playing are also added into certain sections of the recording as well as some Gregorian chants and synths also being utilized briefly.
Wrach plays a style of occult black metal that is very raw, traditional and ritualistic sounding. The production sound s very dark and raw while the lyrics cover Anticosmic Theses, Occultism, Satanism and Death Worship themes.
In my opinion Wrach are a very great sounding raw occult black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "(The Altar Of Tarren Deusant) Ghæstan Sathanical Semilanceata" "Hail Death!" and "A Woeful Descent (Telos)". 8/5 out of 10.
