Häxär are a solo project from Switzerland that has had music reviewed before in this zine and plays an old school style of black metal and this is a review of his 2024 album "Ich bin die Schwärze" which will b e released in October by Sturmglanz Black metal manufaktur.
A very dark, heavy and melodic sound starts off the album while the faster sections of the songs also add in a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats which also gives the music more of a raw feeling. Vocals are mostyl high pitched black metal screams and the recording is also very heavily rooted in the old school era.

Throughout the recording you can also hear a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while the solos and leads are also done in a very melodic style. The songs also add in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with a couple of the tracks also being long and epic in length.
Chants and clear vocals can be heard briefly along with some clean playing also being added into certain sections of the album, some of the songs also add in a small amount of atmospheric touches and the recording closes with some Nargaroth and Burzum cover. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics are written in Swiss and cover Satanism, Darkness and Wart themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding album from Häxär and if you are a fan of old school black metal, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Ave-Satanas" "Aus der Asche wir steigen" and "Black Spell of Destruction". 8 out of 10.
