Goat Serpent are a band originally from Venezuela with the members currently residing in Columbia and Argentina that plays a very raw form of Luciferian black metal and this is a review of their 2025 album "Mors Deorum Omnium" with the cd version being released as a joint effort between Nebula Forest, American Line, WP And RO Productions and the cassette version being released by Vociferos Malditos Productions.
Clean playing, synths and bells start off the album before going into a very fast and raw musical direction which also utilizes a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. Melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing while the vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams.
A lot of the music is also very heavily rooted in the old school era while the songs also add in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. When guitar leads are utilized they are also done in a very melodic style along with a lot of the music also sounding like it could of easily been recorded and released more then 20 years ago and they also bring in a cover of Grand Belial's Key "Shemhamforash".
Goat Serpent plays a style of black metal that is very raw and aggressive in the old school tradition. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover Luciferianism, Occultism, Armageddon and Blasphemy themes.
In my opinion Goat Serpent are a very great sounding raw Luciferian black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "DCXXXI (Behind The Dying Sun)" "Redeemers Ov Bubonic Plague" and "Shemhamforash". 8/5 out of 10.
