1.Can you give us an update on what is going on with the band these days?
All of the members have other projects, that we have been focusing on during this year. Now with the album out, we’re definitey gonna bring it to the stages in as many places as we can….
2.In 2023 you had released your first EP, musically how does it differ from the stuff you have released in the past?
If we compare our 2023 EP Ungodly Carnage to Carnal Lust Of Blasphemy, there’s definietly a step up in production, song structures and the overall feel of the songs. We also tuned down to B from C.
3.A lot of your lyrics are inspired by classic horror movies, which films have had the most influence on your songwriting?
Definitely Hellraiser and Braindead/Dead Alive. Hellraiser movies have this unique depiction of Hell that we took inspiration from, to make it a bit different than it usually is depicted. Braindead/Dead Alive has this goofy vibe that doesent take itself too seriously. DEATH METAL is serious bussines, but when you go over the top with the themes etc. you need to have a little bit of humour in it.
4.I know that the bands name is inspired by the writings of H.P Lovecraft, can you tell us a little bit more about your interest in his works?
While the name is a direct reference to Lovecraft's work, we don't take that much influence from them. Only the concept of something being so grotesque, that it can't be comprehended and it might harm the human mind is what stuck with us.
5.Can you tell us a little bit more about the artwork that is presented on the full length cover?
It’s done by the mighty Slimeweaver. Go check out his works. We had this clear vision, of a cathedral rising from a fleshy and cavernous cave, that's supposed to be our version of Hell. Slimeweaver perfected this vision to the canvas. I think the artwork fits the music perfectly!
6.Has the band done any live shows or open to the idea?
Yes. We have played shows all over Finland. One in Sweden at Öland Rots, one in Poland at Death is not the End and one in Denmark at Extremely Rotten Death Fest. We definitely want to go all over the world. When the situation cools in the States, we’ll definietly head over there as well… Brazil and South America is something we’d 100% want to conquer and experience in the future.
7.On the new album you also have a few guests, can you tell us a little bit more about who they are and their contributions to the recording?
Almost all of Malformed is featuring on our album. We’re good friends behind the scenes, and we wanted them to leave a mark on our 1st full length. Akseli and Eetu from Malformed played killer solos for us. Eetu did the 2nd solo on Putrid Altar Of Eternal Decay, and it rips… Akseli did it in Abomination of the Underworld, and actually wrote a few riffs for that song before leaving Azatoth. Jerry from Baron and Eyes Sewn Shut delivered a killer solo for Extinguished Souls of Putridity. When it comes to vocals, we wanted Disguised Malignance’s Felix to do some LG Petrov style screams of agony for Blasphemous Flesh, and Pauli from Malformed delivered a chilling dialogue as Satan himself for the slow part of Putrid Altar Of Eternal Decay. All of these people are good friends of ours, and we wanted to have their contribution for Carnal Lust Of Blasphemy.
8.The physical version was released on 'Extremely Rotten Records', how did you get n contact with this label?
We’ve been fans of Undergang for a long time. When we discovered Extremely Rotten, we knew that, it was something we wanted to be apart of. David has this vision for death metal that we agree with heavily. That’s why we chose to contact E.R.P.
9.On a worldwide level how has the reaction been to your music by fans of underground6 metal?
From where we stand, it looks like the response has been great all over this shithole of a planet. We’re eternally grateful for that.
10.Where do you see the band heading musically in the future?
It’s hard to say. Only time will tell what depths the riffs come from next time.
11.What are some of the bands or musical styles the band members are currently listening to nowadays?
A lot of different styles of music. It’s impossible to pinpoint one because all of us have a completely different taste in music. Music is such a vast form of art, that if you limit yourself to only few genres, you’ll never get the full experience. but if i had to choose a few… I’d say brutal death, black metal, grind, post electronic and maybe even some jazz fusion.
12.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?
