Black Goat/Self Titled/Nuclear War Now Productions/2004 CD Review

  Black  Goat  where  a  band  from  San  Francisco  that  played  a  very  mid  paced,  raw  and  primitive  form  of  satanic  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  released  2004  album  which  was  released  by  Nuclear  War  Now  Productions.

  Drums  range  from  slow  to mid  paced  drumming  with  not  much  in  the  way  of  fast  playing  or  blast  beats,  while  the  bass  playing  has  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  is  coming  out  of  the  guitars.

  Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow  to  mid  paced  black  metal  riffs  that  are  very  dark,  raw  and  primitive  sounding  with  some  dark  sounding  melodies  and  death,  thrash  and  doom  metal  influences  being  thrown  into  the  riffing,  while  the  lead  guitars  are  very  dark  sounding  early  90's  black/death  metal  guitar  solos  and  leads.

  Vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  with  some  deep  death  metal  growls  being  thrown  into  the  music  at  times,  while  the  lyrics  cover  Satanism,  Occultism  and  Darkness,  as  for  the  production  on  this  recording  it  was  all  recorded  live  and  has  a  very  dark,  raw  and  primitive  sound  to  it.

  In  my  opinion  Black  Goat  where  a  very  great  sounding  mid  paced  satanic,  raw  and  primitive  sounding  satanic  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Human  Sacrifice"  "Skullfucker"  and  "The  Black  Goat".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
