Burialkult are a band from Victoria B.C, Canada that plays a very heavy, raw and primitive form of bestial black metal with elements of rock and roll and this is a review of their 2013 album "A Call From Beyond The Grave" which was released by Blood Harvest Records.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with a good amount of blast beats being thrown into t he music, while the synths are only used briefly bring a very dark, occult, and evil sound to the recording, as for the bass playing it has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that are coming out of the guitars.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast black bestial black metal riffs that are very heavy, raw and primitive sounding with elements of death metal and rock and roll in the riffing, while the lead guitars are very chaotic sounding black/death metal guitar solos and leads.
Vocals are mostly bestial and grim sounding black metal screams and growls that have a depressive tone to them at times, while the lyrics cover Satanism, Luciferian, and Blasphemous themes, as for the production it has a very dark, heavy, raw and primitive sound to it.
In my opinion Burialkult are a very great sounding heavy, raw and primitive satanic black metal band with a rock and roll edge and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "By Satan Possessed" "Eternal Satan" "Spell Of Black Torment" and "Desecrate The Temple". RECOMMENDED BUY.
