Common Grave are a band from Italy that plays a very depressive form of black metal and this is a review of t heir 2016 album "Dust Of My Existence" which was released by Vacula Productions.
A very dark and heavy sound starts off the album along with some grim black metal screams and depressive melodies a few seconds later before introducing melodic guitar leads onto the recording and acoustic guitars can be heard in certain sections of the recording and death metal growls are also used at times.
Most of the tracks are very long and epic in length and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard along with some tremolo picking which also takes the music into a very fast and raw black metal direction and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
Common Grave plays a style of black metal that can be raw at times while also having its depressive moments and also mixing in a lot of acoustic passages which makes the music stand out a bit more, the production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover sadness, misery and Vacuity Of Life themes.
In my opinion Common Grave are a very great sounding depressive black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "On gray Paths We Move" and "A Cold Goodbye". 8 out of 10.
