This is a review of another recording from Brazil's solo project Circle Of Noose which continues the experimental black metal sound of previous recordings with the demo being released in 2016 by Depressive Illusions Records and called "The Circle Of Obsession".
Drum beats and avant garde style acoustic guitars start off the demo along with some tortured voices in the background and after a minute the music gets more heavier and starts adding in melodic guitar leads before adding in grim yet high pitched black metal screams and they also get very depressive and suicidal at times.
Deep growls can be heard in some of the vocals and the music also gets very atmospheric and experimental at times and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and some of the songs are very long and epic in length and one of the tracks also brings in ambient style synths along with one of the tracks being all instrumental and all of the songs stick to a very slow musical direction and the last track brings in hospital call samples as well as a brief use of clean playing.
Circle Of Noose creates a black metal recording that is very slow, raw and depressive while also being very experimental at the same time, the production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover dark and depressive themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Circle Of Noose and if you are a fan of raw and experimental black metal, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Clayborn, Oh Poor Clayborn" and "Abused Cherub". 8 out of 10.
