Eyelids are a duo from Italy that plays a very depressive form of black metal and this is a review of their 2016 ep "Departure" which will be released in May by Masked Dead Records.
Wind sounds start off the ep along with some acoustic guitars a few seconds later which also leads up to some drum beats before going into a heavier direction and adding depressive black metal screams onto the recording and you can also hear some melodies in the guitar riffing at times.
Acoustic guitars also mix in with the heavier side briefly and the guitar riffing also has a very raw sound to it while the songs stick to a very slow musical direction and after awhile the music starts adding in more of a melodic sound along with a small amount of clean singing chants which also gives the song more of an atmospheric feeling.
Eyelids plays a style of black metal that is very depressive and slow while also having its raw and melodic moments, the production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover solitude, sadness, and emptiness.
In my opinion Eyelids are a very great sounding depressive black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Departure". 8 out of 10.
