Nazghor are a band from Sweden that plays a very raw and melodic form of black metal and this is a review of their 2016 album "Death's Withered Chants" which was released by Satanath Records.
A very dark sounding synth starts off the album giving the music more of a ritualistic feeling and after awhile thunder sounds and female vocals are added onto the recording and after the intro the music goes into a very fast, raw and melodic black metal direction along with a great amount of blast beats.
All of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them while the vocals are mostly angry and high pitched black metal screams and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and you can also hear a lot of tremolo picking in the faster riffs and some of the tracks are very long and epic in length and acoustic guitars can also be heard briefly and there is also a brief use of spoken word parts and samples and synths also make a return on a later track and some riffs also bring in a touch of thrash and melodic vocals are added onto the last track.
Nazghor plays a style of black metal that is very raw and melodic and also continues the Swedish tradition of the genre, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Anti Cosmic Satanism and Devil Worship themes.
In my opinion Nazghor are a very great sounding raw and melodic satanic black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Requiem Black Mass" "Road To Dead Meadows" "Complete Unholyness" and "Death's Withered Chant". 8 out of 10.
