Trono Alem Morte/O Olhar Atento da Escuridao/Harvest Of Death/Signal Rex/2017 CD Review

  Trono  Alem  Morte  are  a  band  from  Portugal  that  plays  a  very  raw  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2017  album  "O  Olhar  Atento  da  Escuridao"  which  will  be  released  on  December  21st  as  a joint  effort  between  Harvest  Of  Death  and  Signal  Rex.

  A  very  dark  and  distorted  sound  starts  off  the  album  along  with  some  drum  beats  and  a  lo-fi  atmosphere  while  the  vocals  are  done  in  a  very  grim  yet  mournful  black  metal  style  along  with  a  great  portion  of  the  tracks  being  very  long  and  epic  in  length  and  when  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats  can  be  heard.

  During  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  can  be  heard  which  also  gives  the  songs  a  more  raw  feeling  while  the  music  is  very  heavily  rooted  in  the  90's  second  wave  tradition  along  with  the  songs  also  bringing  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  and  as  the  album  progresses  a  brief  use  of  acoustic  guitars  and  melodic  chants  which  are  also  mixed  down  low  in  the  mix  can  also  be  heard.

  Trono  Alem  Morte  plays  a  style  of black  metal  that  is  very  raw  and  lo-fi  sounding,  the  production sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  Portuguese  and  cover  metaphysical  and emotional  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Trono  Alem  Morte  are  a  very  great  sounding  raw  black metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "O  Olhar  Atento  da  Escuridao"  and  "Ao  Abracar  a  Ingrata  Morte".  8  out  of  10.
