Thy Sepulchral Moon are a duo with embers from both Canada and South Korea that plays a very raw and bestial form of black metal and this is a review of their 2017 compilation album "Indignant Force of Great Malevolence" which will be released on December 22nd by Signal Rex.
A very dark and demonic sounding intro starts off the compilation before going into a heavier musical direction which also introduces high pitched black metal screams and bestial growls into the music and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard along with some elements of war metal.
During the faster sections of the songs the riffs bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while the music is very heavily rooted in the 90's traditions of black and war metal along with some songs bringing in more grim style black metal vocals, when guitar solos and leads are .utilized they are done in a very chaotic fashion.
All of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them while on some songs the riffs also bring in a decent amount of dark sounding melodies and they also bring in cover's of NON's "Total War" and "Beherit's Sadomatic Rites as well a s a great portion of their original tracks being very short in length.
Thy Sepulchral Moon plays a style of black metal that is very bestial and raw sounding, the production sounds very dark, raw and lo-fi while the lyrics cover darkness and occultism themes.
In my opinion Thy Sepulchral Moon are a very great sounding raw and bestial black metal duo, and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this compilation. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Spell 2" "Dislocated From Advance" and "Murk". 8 out of 10.
