Austria's Summoning have returned with a new recording which continues the epic and atmospheric style of black metal from previous releases and this is a review of their album "With Doom We Come" which will be released in 2018 by Napalm Records.
Epic sounding drum programming starts off the album along with some spoken word parts a few seconds later which also leads up to more of a heavier and melodic musical direction while the keyboards give the music the atmosphere of a fantasy movie or video game as well as evoking a medieval feeling.
Most of the tracks are very long and epic in length while some of the keyboards also add in a touch of dungeon synth along with a great amount of grim black metal screams and some songs also being in a small amount of melodic chants and vocals and as the album progresses a brief use of choir vocals can also be heard and all of the songs stick to either a slow or mid tempo direction.
Summoning creates another recording that remains very true to the epic and atmospheric style of black metal from previous releases, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics covers Tolkien's Middle Earth Universe.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Summing and if you are a fan of this band, you should enjoy this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Tar-Calion" "Night Fell Behind" and "With Doom We Come". 8 out of 10.
