This is a review of a split 10 inch between Iceland's Oreida and Portugal's Holocausto em Chamas which will be released as a joint effort between Harvest Of Death and Signal Rex on December 15th, 2017 and we will start off the review with Oreida a band that plays a very raw form of black metal.
Their side of the split starts out with a very fast and raw sound which also uses a great amount of blast beats and tremolo picking while melodic guitar leads can also be heard but mixed low in the mix along with all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them.
Their track is 10 minutes in length while also being very atmospheric at times while dark sounding melodic can also be heard at times along with some black metal screams that are very hard to hear, the production sounds very raw and lo-fi while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion Oreida are a very great sounding raw black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out their side of the split.
Next up is Hococausto em Chamas another band that plays a raw form of black metal.
Their side of the split starts out with an atmosphere that is almost like a horror movie soundtrack while also mixing in an avant garde vibe before grim black metal screams start to make their presence known along with some primitive sounding blast beats as well a s some fast riffs.
During the faster sections of the songs a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard which also gives the songs a more raw feeling while the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts, the production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion Hococausto em Chamas are a very great sounding raw black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out their side of the split. RECOMMENDED TRACK "II".
In conclusion I feel this is a very great sounding split and would recommend it to all fans of raw and lo-fi black metal. 8 out of 10.
