NightVermin are a band from Dublin, Ireland that plays a very fast, melodic and old school form of black metal and this is a review of their self released 2019 demo "Internecine".
A very heavy and melodic sound starts off the demo along with a brief use of spoken word parts before going into a very fast and raw musical direction which also uses a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats while the vocals are mostly grim black metal screams and the music is heavily rooted in the 90's.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are done in a very melodic style while the songs also add in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. The songs also add in a decent amount of Swedish influences as well as giving the music more of a modern day aggression, spoken word parts also make a return on some of the later tracks.
NightVermin plays a style of black emtal that is very fast and melodic in the 90's old school Swedish tradition. The production sounds very raw and heavy while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion NightVermin are a very great sounding fast, melodic and old school black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Primeval Wails" and "My Grave, A Monument Of Pain". 8 out of 10.
